Chemical cleaning products are a problem. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Environmental Protection Agency have published numerous reports and issued warnings for decades. Visit either one of these websites and you can read countless warnings about these products, yet they continue to be used in commercial and residential settings on a regular basis with no regard for the dangers these products pose. It's really time to start thinking about ways to clean, sanitize, and disinfect without using products that are putting consumers and our eco-system at risk.

Dangers of Chemical Residue Left by Cleaning Products
One of the big dangers of chemical-based cleaning products is the residue it leaves behind. This is in addition to the obvious harmful fumes and VOCs most of these products produce. The residue left behind is often overlooked. We think that by wiping the surface, we're removing the residue, but that isn't the case. Imagine the chemical residue left behind on the desks in a school room after they've been cleaned with chemical-based products. Think about the residue that gets left behind on surfaces of a restaurant kitchen after they've been cleaned. We could continue to give examples. Wherever these potentially hazardous cleaners, sanitizers, and disinfectants are used, there is likely chemical residue left behind that people come into contact with. An EPA Educational cleaning and sanitizing guide makes it clear that "some cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting products also contain chemicals that may cause health problems in children and staff." The guide goes on to state that these same products "may also cause problems in the environment for our waterways and wildlife." The same guide further states that most consumers assume just because a cleaning product is sold it must be safe. The EPA says this isn't true and adds, "The American Poison Control Centers reports that household cleaning products and disinfectants are common causes of poisoning in both children and adults."

One of the Big Dangers of Chemical-Based Cleaning Products is the Residue it Leaves Behind
It should be alarming to learn this. The chemicals found in store-bought and commercial-strength cleansers, sanitizers, and disinfectants can cause a range of health issues to people that includes skin rashes and irritation, burning eyes, breathing issues, and in some cases, even death, as evidenced by recent events concerning a Buffalo Wild Wings employees and a commercial floor cleaner.

Whenever cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting products are used, there will be residue left behind. People, including children in schools, can come into contact when they touch the surface with their hands or touch objects that have come into contact with the surface. Younger kids, as many of us know, have no problem actually coming into contact with surfaces using their mouths. Any of these methods put people in contact with the residue left behind by harmful chemical cleaning products, exposing them to all of the potential hazards associated with those products. As long as these products are being used, the risk will always be there. The only answer is an alternative that can be counted on to offer a safe cleaning and non-toxic sanitizing and disinfecting routine.

The Toxic Residue Left on Surfaces can be Dangerous to Children
GenEon is that alternative. All of our cleaning, sanitizing, and disinfecting products are made using on-site generation technology. This technology allows consumers to make sustainable, safe cleaners and non-toxic sanitizers and disinfectants on-site using only water, natural minerals, and electricity. Because the products are made on-site, as needed, there is also a substantial savings in cost. It also eliminates the need to purchase and store numerous cleaning products, making it even more safe for schools, the workplace, health institutions, and anywhere else where there is typically a lot of chemical cleaners stored. GenEon products are capable of cleaning 99.999% of all of the germs and bacteria commonly found, including influenza, E.coli, MRSA, and norovirus. Because our cleaners, sanitizers, and disinfectants are made with natural minerals, they are safe for people, pets, and for the environment. The best part is, our cleaners, sanitizers, and disinfectants kill germs and bacteria in less than 30 seconds without leaving behind any chemical residue and without emitting any harmful vapors or VOCs. This means that GenEon's products are the perfect alternative for schools, hospitals, public gyms, restaurants, doctor's offices, and everywhere else we work and play.

GenEon's Safe Cleaning Products Won't Leave Any Chemical Residue Behind
Chemical residue left behind is a serious, well-documented issue. GenEon is at the forefront of the battle to keep consumers and the environment safe and healthy.
